Workforce Development Unit

General Information

The Workforce Development Unit under DSS focuses on helping individuals prepare for, find, and keep employment.  It connects job seekers with training, education, and career services that build skills aligned with the needs of local employers.  The goal is to lift families out of poverty permanently through skills enhancement and career development while promoting economic stability for families across the state.

This unit also works closely with employers, community organizations, Nevada’s workforce investment boards, and training providers to strengthen Nevada’s workforce.  By supporting programs such as job placement, career counseling, and workforce training initiatives, DSS’ Workforce Development Unit helps reduce unemployment, supports vulnerable populations, and contributes to the overall economic health of Nevada communities.

For more information about how the Workforce Development Unit can assist you as a job seeker, a community based organization, or an employer, please reach out to WorkforceDevelopment@dss.nv.gov.
